In this exercise, participants are put into pairs, and given a cardboard wrapped in fabric to hold onto, throughout. They are given the following instructions one by one: 1. Walk around, and explore what movements you can do 2. Be as far as possible from each other, while holding onto the cardboard 3. Hide your partner's face from yourself 4. Be as close as possible without seeing each other or touching each other directly 5. While continuing the previous instruction, listen to each other's footsteps 6. Slow down your movements gradually 7. Stay still

In this exercise, I sit under the table and invite passersby to join me. Under the confinement and privacy of the tablecloth, we try to have a conversation. Sometimes more than one joins me under the table

In this exercise, I asked a friend to join me in a performance in front of an audience. We sit underneath the transparent fabric and make sounds with metal pieces as a form of interaction. During our interactions, we make use of a contact microphone to amplify the quiet sounds we make.

With this exercise, I asked the audience to gather in a corner of a small room, against a window. I then approach them - not speaking to them but reciting a piece of text (see below). I sit close to the audience. Slowly I engage in actions such as touching and staring, towards the audience.

This participatory performance began with my exploration of the different relations to performance: as a performer, as the audience, and as a participating audience. As the main performer, I guide the audience one by one to sit at a chair, cover their face with fabric and give them a stone to hold. As I leave, I whisper. After a while, I lead them out of the chair, and a new participant can join.

2025I Was At The Frame Shop Omstand Arnhem, Nederland OMSTAND presenteert de tentoonstelling: I Was At The Frame Shop Van 15 t/m 30 maart Opening 15 maart – 16.00h. deelnemende kunstenaars: Natsumi Sakai, Nikki Vroom, Onno Meeuwsen, Isa Bongers and Jonas Ohlsson I Was At The Frame Shop is onderdeel van het Apprentice/Master Programma van Kunstpodium T. Dit programma ondersteunt en motiveert recent afgestudeerde kunstenaars bij de start van hun carrière. Ze worden daarbij begeleidt door een professioneel team. Kunstpodium T programmeert dit project hoofdzakelijk vanuit Tilburg, maar werkt voor dit project ook samen op locatie met andere kunstpodia, zoals met Omstand. In I Was At The Frame Shop is Jonas Ohlsson de master. OMSTAND – space for contemporary art Van Oldenbarneveldtstraat 92 A, Arnhem Open: elke vrij-, zat.-, en zondag van 12 – 17h. www.omstand.nl/news/i-was-at-the-frame-shop/ Groep

2024(Dis)comfort Narratives: Moving with the Feeling BAK, basis voor actuele kunst Utrecht, Nederland The diverse range of graduation projects sheds light on the tensions and proximities inherent in the interplay of eco-socio-cultural pressures and intimate, relational dynamics, from multiple perspectives and diverse contexts and backgrounds. Within the shifting relationalities of reality, comfort and discomfort can never be entirely separated. From the social and communal to the personal realm of the mind and body, political dynamics are always at play. To come to terms with oneself, these young artists pose a question: What are alternative ways of storytelling, connecting, and living in current eco-socio-political climates? In their presentations, they bring together the complexities of the relationship between society and the self — to exemplify displacement, alienation, re-location, and coexistence — asking the pivotal question: what does it mean to ‘connect’? Mindful Silliness Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Utrecht Utrecht, Nederland In this seminar, we will explore alternative ways of learning from each other, rooted in the idea of playful exchanges. We will use MINDFUL-SILLINESS as a way to connect with each other. It will be about physical activities, nonsensical explorations, and simply having fun together. At the same time, within this ‘silliness,’ we try to emphasize the importance of considering others.
